Antti Kohvakka#23 Antti Kohvakka 2003 - 2007
Playing Participant in the Legends of Peterborough event March 16th 2008

Antti Kohvakka joined Phantoms in 2003, having been released by struggling Solihull Barons mid-season. Many fans declared themselves less than excited at the club picking up a cast-off from a rival EPL side but four years on and Antti has worn the Phantoms shirt 226 times ……. more than any other overseas player in the club’s short history.

His style is one that is appreciated by Peterborough fans as much as it is hated by opposition fans. So often the experienced rock in a largely inexperienced D, Antti has had to lead many a rearguard action with his typical no-nonsense, fearless approach that has attracted the attention of most of the league’s tough guys at some point.

Regardless of the beatings they may have dished out, however, they all knew he’d be back out next shift and ready to go in where it hurts for his team once again ……. and that is precisely what has made him one of the most popular players in the last decade of Peterborough hockey.
