#39 Craig Britton 1992 - 2007
Playing Participant in the Legends of Peterborough event March 16th 2008
Peterborough born Craig came through the Peterborough development system before being given his senior debut by coach Tony Hunter in the 1992/93 season as a sixteen year old. Craig took to the senior game very quickly, learning fast and establishing himself by his second season as a reliable and regular top-line D-man.
His young talents caught the eye of many rival clubs and in 1994 he joined Jon Cotton for a stint with Blackburn Hawks before returning for three more seasons with his home town club. Successful campaigns with both Chelmsford and Milton Keynes then followed before Craig returned for the final two seasons of the Pirates and the first two seasons of the Phantoms.
A couple of recent cameo appearances for Phantoms has extended Craig’s top flight career in Peterborough to fifteen years and well over 300 games. Never a player to grab the limelight and rarely one to receive the accolades he deserved, his no-nonsense, uncompromising and highly effective style has nonetheless made him hugely popular with hockey connoisseurs and fellow players alike
