Alcide Jutras 1984 - 1985
Playing Participant in the Legends of Peterborough event March 16th 2008
Alcide Jutras arrived in Peterborough to partner John Lawless in the 1984/85 season. Alcide, or “El Cid” as the fans soon christened him, was a complete unknown and even today you’ll do well to find any reference to him anywhere on internet hockey databases.
He came, he vanished but inbetween he conquered in a style that nobody who witnessed it has ever forgotten. Alcide was without any doubt the most prolific goalscorer in the twenty five year history of Peterborough ice hockey, racking up an astonishing 104+46 for 150 points from just 20 league games …… it was not surprising that Pirates won the league that season !
Rumoured to have spent recent years as a lumberjack in the wilds of Canada, there are few more eagerly anticipated returns on the 16th March than that of the legend that is Alcide “El Cid” Jutras !
