Cassie Dawkins 1987 - 1997

Winston “Cassie” Dawkins made a handful of appearances for Pirates in the eighties but started to establish himself for real under the guidance of coach Rocky Saganiuk where he made two appearances at British Championship Finals at Wembley in 1991 and 1992.

Throughout the nineties, Cassie proved himself a regular points scorer and even attracted the attention of Basingstoke and Bracknell where he chalked up 30 and 26 point seasons respectively.

Cassie returned to Pirates as a top British points scorer and ended with a 47 point return from a tough 1996/97 season.

Cassie was always a true fans favourite, playing a feisty game but always with a smile on his favourite and his return on 16th March will be welcomed by many.
