Carl StriplingCarl Stripling 1986 - 1994
Playing Participant in the Legends of Peterborough event March 16th 2008

Jumped straight into popularity with local fans in his debut season in 1986/87 as part of a hard skating, feisty third line that contributed good numbers with Carl chalking up 9+5 and collecting a championship medal as a reward.

Remembered by many for his starring role in the 1991/92 British Championship Semi-Final at Wembley when his two goals were viewed by millions live on BBC and very nearly gave Pirates victory over the Nottingham Panthers.

Established as a hard-grafting point a game forward, Carl’s career was brought to a devastating end by a serious illness that threatened his life in 1994. Thankfully, he showed the same grit and determination he showed on the ice to beat the illness and today he plays a key role in the coaching of Phantoms development sides where his experience is being passed on to future generations of players.
