Tim PeacockTim Peacock 1983 - 1997
Playing Participant in the Legends of Peterborough event March 16th 2008

Tim Peacock started his career in UK hockey in the early 1980s with Ayr Bruins and then with Nottingham Panthers where he became a prolific and free-scoring forward, racking up an average of over two points per game.

Tim made a number of guest appearances for the fledgling Pirates in their early months before signing fully and making his home debut on 6th February 1983 in a 10-1 challenge game defeat of Whitley Bay. Tim’s popularity with Peterborough fans came not only from his immediate 48 point return from his season’s 17 games but from his feisty and hard skating style that saw him engaged in many a brawl with visiting “bad boys” !

Sadly, UK hockey’s inability to find a placement for dual-nationality players such as Tim saw him frozen out of the game for subsequent seasons but as soon as common sense had prevailed, Tim was back in Pirates colours for the latter part of the 1985/86 season and then playing a huge part in the club’s championship winning 1986/87 season where he racked up 85+55 from 45 games.

Tim missed out on Pirates Wembley years, plying his trade with new rivals in Milton Keynes, but returned to Pirates in the early 90s and made his final appearance trying to help a struggling Pirates side during their crisis season of 1996/97.

Tim continues to support Peterborough hockey today as a proven and successful junior coach and his son, Craig, is rapidly establishing himself in the current Phantoms side and at national level.
